Madeline has started bringing little reading books home from school to practice. It's so exciting to see her reading and learning site words!
From Coast to Coast (almost)
Keep up with our crazy lives in Salt Lake City and Charlottesville! I would keep your expectations low and then if I exceed them by posting more than once a month, you'll be thrilled!

Madeline's Birthday Dinner in Charlottesville
We celebrated Madeline's birthday on Sunday, September 19 in Charlottesville. We made our own pizzas and the kids and adults all had a great time. Madeline was so excited about her party. She woke up at 7am (early for her) and asked me every 10 minutes when her guests would arrive (the party was at 5pm. It made for a very looong yet exciting day. We are looking forward to celebrating with her class and our friends and family in South Carolina this week and weekend!

Dave's visit and our second trip to the waterfall!
Dave came to Charlottesville on Wednesday and we were able to spend a lot of time together over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Thursday Dave was able to walk Madeline to school and meet her teacher and see her classroom. Then we went on a tour of Charlottesville by bike! That was a lot of fun and gave Dave a chance to see UVA and the city of Charlottesville. Friday night we went to an outdoor concert. Charlottesville has an awesome outdoor walking mall and huge pavilion at the end where they hold concerts every Friday in the summer through October We had a great time and even got to stay for the UVA pep rally…that was an experience too! On Saturday we went back to the outdoor mall for dinner and shopping. Sunday we went back to the Blue Ridge Parkway to show Dave the waterfall hiking trail. We had a picnic lunch and they day was beautiful!
Yay for automatic timers on cameras!
